FAQs
If there’s anything else you’d like to ask us, feel free to send us an email or use the form on our Contact Us page.
How much do your services cost?
Our services are completely free. However, donations to help end the digital divide would be greatly appreciated. You can find the link to our GoFundMe on the Fundraising page of our website.
What ages do you take?
Our classes range from K-8, but some of them have prerequisites or suggested age limits (indicated on schedule). We also provide individual support for K-8.
What subjects do you offer?
In terms of group classes, we offer a very wide range of academic and non-academic subjects from simple science experiments to yoga. For individual tutoring, we are more than happy to provide services for any subject you request.
Do I have to live in Los Angeles for my child to take part in classes?
Nope, we have students from all over! The class times on our social media and website are in Pacific Standard Time, but all time zones are welcome.
How do I become a volunteer?
Go to the Volunteer page on our website, and fill out this quick form. We’ll get back to you shortly!
What are the security measures you take for student/volunteer safety?
All of our tutors fill out the application on our website, and are interviewed by members of our team before gaining admission to our program. Our volunteer policy document, which we collaborated on with the YMCA director of risk management, can be viewed here.
As for volunteers, we require valid email addresses for access to our links, and board members are available in case of any issues.
Is it beneficial for students to learn from high schoolers and university students?
Yes! Please check out this paper to learn why.
