Our Founders
Hope, Founder
Hi! I’m Hope, the founder of Bored of Boredom. I absolutely love to learn. I particularly enjoy studying the humanities, engaging with subjects like philosophy, literature, and political science to analyze the ways in which society has progressed morally and intellectually. I believe that it is vital to absorb the wisdom of the past, explore the ways in which great thinkers pondered the fundamental questions, and apply that which I learn to my development as a scholar and human being.
Additionally, I am passionate about social justice; I’ve worked with organizations including JWW, The Loyola Project for the Innocent, the LA Mayor’s Youth Council, KITT, The Children’s Ranch Foundation, and the National Network of Schools in Partnership. My love of learning and innate desire to correct the injustices I perceive in the world converged and compelled me to found Bored of Boredom.
In my free time, I love to listen to punk rock music, read theory and fiction, experiment with vegetarian cooking, and make Punk Rock accessories like patches and jewelry.
Greta, Co-Founder
Hi, I'm Greta! I have a strong passion for anything in the arts, be it music, dance, theatre, visual arts or literature. I am also committed to resolving and eliminating issues of justice and liberty, and have participated in numerous marches, as well as attending the Student Diversity Leadership Conference (twice!). In my free time, I love baking, playing video games and telling my dog what a good boy he is (he is a very good boy).
Katarina, Co-Founder
Hi! I’m Katarina, one of the founders of Bored of Boredom. I really love math, coding, and science, and am very excited to be able to share that with all of you! I also dance a lot, love to do puzzles, and play cards in my spare time. At Bored of Boredom, I helped facilitate contact between parents and tutors and ran the group class schedule. I’m so proud of all the work our tutors have done and am excited to see the organization continue to grow and teach!!
